From January 29 to February 24, 1932 took place in the renowned Munich gallery »J. B. Neumann and Günther Franke «an exhibition of three then unknown young artists: the painters Joseph Mader (1905–1982) and Max Wendl (1904–1984) and the sculptor Fritz Müller (1901–1955). Today, like many others from the so-called lost generation, the artists are forgotten. 82 years later, about half of the exhibits are still privately owned, the rest are preserved in photographs. The works purchased for the Städtische Galerie are still in their possession today, with the exception of one picture that was confiscated as “degenerate”. The Dachau Picture Gallery recreates the exhibition and complements it with works from the artist's early work.
