Ahrenshoop. Die Künstlerkolonie an der Ostsee
November, 16th 2018 – March, 10th 2019
Konrad-Adenauer-Straße 3, 85221 Dachau
During a trip over the Fischland, the painters Paul Müller-Kaempff and Oskar Frenzel discovered the fishing village Ahrenshoop on the Baltic Sea. They were impressed by its scenic beauty and above all by the rest there. Since 1882 artists and art lovers have been attracting more and more people to the small town on the peninsula Fischland-Darß, a narrow strip of land between the sea and the Bodden.
Today, the artists' colony Ahrenshoop, which celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2017, is undoubtedly the best-known of the artist colonies on the Baltic Sea and the destination of many tourists.
