Hans Brosch completed an apprenticeship as a chemical count in the central graphic training workshops in Berlin-Mitte. From 1961 to 1966 she studied stage design with Karl von Appen at the Berlin Ensemble and at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Hans Brosch has been a freelance painter since 1967. The exhibition at Kunstkaten shows newer works on canvas and paper. The boundaries between figuration and abstraction blur in Hans Brosch's work. He does not follow any current, gives the line, shape and color his own roles in his visual worlds. Landscapes or figures seem recognizable, but often remain puzzling and become one with numerous shades of color, which in the more recent works are again lighter, sometimes more transparent.
