Boulevard Zeezijde 31, Katwijk

"In Nature

Work by Piet Groenendijk, Marijke van Oostrum, Sonja Brussen and Peter Altena can be seen at the November exhibition of the Katwijkerkring in the DUNAatelier.

They all have their own style, but they are all plein-air artists, painting in the open air.

In his paintings, Piet Groenendijk searches for the essence, which leads to abstraction in the subjects. The impressions are linked to an expressive use of paint and brush.

Marijke van Oostrum is more subdued, searching for forms. Her work is not only created with paint, but also on the IPad. Van Oostrum likes to draw and that is something that can also be done digitally nowadays, whereby you have a whole colour palette at your disposal. The work is printed on special paper in a limited edition.

Sonja Brussen works every day in all weathers, looking for light, air and space, which she reproduces wet-on-wet on canvas. For her, experiencing nature is of great importance; it gives her the feeling of being part of it when she is working.

Peter Altena is not only to be found outside in search of sun, light, shadow, reflections and shapes. In his studio, he paints interiors and portraits and moulds clay and wax sculptures, which he often casts in bronze.

The artists will also be present in the DUNAatelier for a number of days: Marijke van Oostrum on 13 November, Piet Groenendijk on 14 November, Peter Altena on 20 November and Sonja Brussen on 28 November.

The exhibition "In nature" can be seen on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5 November to Sunday, 28 November between 1.30 pm and 4.30 pm.

The DUNAatelier is located on the Duinplein, Boulevard Zeezijde 31 near the Vuurbaak. Opposite, next to the fish stall, a road leads down to the square where you can park (paid).
