Successful painters' week in Katwijk

September 4th - October 31st 2021

Boulevard Zeezijde 31, Katwijk

According to the professional artists, it was a joy to meet each other again in and around the DUNAatelier, see new faces and exchange thoughts. Even though the weather did not cooperate. A number of painters went to sea, the waves were very attractive as were the beautiful skies that alternated between threatening, cloudy and sunny. Difficult to paint because of the changing light and tiring because of the strong wind that blew them around the ears.

Some therefore looked for subjects indoors, such as in the Katwijk Museum and at the indoor allotment gardens in Rijnsburg, where they were received enthusiastically.

A little more secluded were the dunes, the Barracks Camp along the Wassenaarseweg and the picking garden of Festina Lente. Even the parking garage on the Boulevard produced some surprising paintings, although the exhaust fumes were a little less pleasant to work in.

Jacob Kerssemakers' project, for which interested parties could supply an idea for a location without obligation, was a great success. In total, he drew some forty works in watercolour, which will remain available for the 'clients' until 19 September and may then be sold to everyone.

A total of 158 oil paintings of various sizes and price ranges were made by 17 mainly Dutch artists.
The exhibition can be seen from 4 September to 31 October. During the month of September from Thursday to Sunday from 2 to 5 pm. In October, the art pavilion is open from Friday to Sunday from 2 to 5 pm.

The DUNAatelier is located on the Duinplein, Boulevard Zeezijde 31 near the Vuurbaak. Opposite, next to the fish kiosk, a road leads down to the square where you can park (paid).
