Walter Libuda

March 20th - November, 22nd 2020

Kunstmuseum Ahrenshoop
Weg zum Hohen Ufer 36, Ostseebad Ahrenshoop

Walter Libuda (* 1950), master student of Bernhard Heisig in the 1970s, developed one of the most independent, dazzling and verbally most difficult positions in the Leipzig scene before moving to Berlin in the mid-1980s. He has consistently expanded this position to this day. The coloristic and figurative scenario of his works is the result of a constant reflection sparked by impulses from the general life stream. In the pictures that arise spontaneously, the lived time is reflected in its inexhaustible and fabulous sensual density of events. The extensive exhibition provides a current insight into all of the artist's creative fields.
