Our current exhibition "Antje Fretwurst-Colberg - The Fall of the Wild Roses - Oil Painting from Six Decades" is extended until 11 July 2021.

Born in Hamburg, Antje Fretwurst-Colberg studied art education at the University of Greifswald from 1958 to 1962 and graduated with a diploma. She then worked as a teacher in Greifswald and Berlin. From 1967 to 1971 she studied painting and free graphic art at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art (diploma). Until 1997 Antje Fretwurst-Colberg worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist in Berlin, then she moved to Dändorf/Fischland together with her husband, the artist Friedrich Wilhelm Fretwurst.

A very balanced and coherent colourfulness accompanies the narrative painting style of her works. Depictions of moments of everyday life, big city scenes and their inhabitants, but also moving coastal landscapes captured in seemingly fleeting moments are brought to life from unexpected angles.
