Colors of intuition – Catharina Mandl
Painting on paper and canvas

The focus is on the process of artistic creation, with the artist concentrating on the aesthetics of the human and the recognition of imperfection.

The predominantly intuitive and open work is in the foreground here, whereby thematically man and nature are a continuous part of the illustrations, whether abstract or photographic. The process-oriented approach is also reflected in the diverse use of techniques and materials.

It is about the individual process of exploring color composition and capturing different emotions that can be conveyed fluently and unobtrusively. Thus, the work is always an intimate part of the artist, which, however, detaches itself after completion and can become part of the viewer.

The human being is seen as part of nature, in which the human figure unfolds. It is not an idealized place, but a complex, abstract space in which the individual seeks his or her place. The artist avoids an overly clear interpretation and leaves room for individual observation.
