MARIA BLONDEEL. Continuous Remastering (BORDEN)

Maria Blondeel presents new work, blueprints and artifacts from her archive.
The artist takes a retrospective look at her own work and life.

The themes of the works of the first group (as George Minne, Valerius De Saedeleer) and second group (Gust De Smet, Frits Van den Berghe) of Sint-Martens-Latem – shown in the permanent collection – are in contrast with the engines, electrical household machines of the golden 1960s in Western Europe. The consumer society florishes when Maria Blondeel grew up. On the other hand the ecological movement grew.

Her mythical sources of inspiration are therefore the cosmopolitan, ecological and artistic projects of the Gevaert family.
