Frauke Gloyer – Clouds, Weather, and the Light of the Sea
Born in Flensburg, Frauke Gloyer studied Art and Fine Painting at the Braunschweig University of Art. Since the mid-1980s, she has lived and worked in North Frisia.
Her paintings capture the diverse moods and scenes of northern Germany in a striking way. Whether wide, open views across the mudflats, close-ups of natural details, or dark, heavy clouds glowing in snow or sunlight – Gloyer brings the atmosphere and emotional tone of her motifs to life with remarkable sensitivity.
Her depictions of the Wadden Sea and other landscapes, with their shimmering waters, reveal her refined sense of colour and her ability to transform simple elements of nature into true treasures of painting. She makes the beauty and richness of the northern landscape tangible in a uniquely captivating way.
Her works are being presented at the Kunstkaten for the first time.
