Paula Modersohn-Becker Art Prize 2024
The Paula Modersohn-Becker Art Prize has been awarded every two years by the district of Osterholz since 2010 and has been organised by the Worpswede Museum Association, the Barkenhoff and the Große Kunstschau Worpswede since 2020. It is intended as a living, creatively evolving memorial to the outstanding Worpswede artist Paula Modersohn-Becker.
In addition to the main prize of €7,500, two further prizes are awarded: the special prize, which is linked to a purchase and is aimed exclusively at artists from the state of Bremen and the district of Osterholz, and the young talent prize, donated by Sparkasse Rotenburg Osterholz and endowed with €2,500, for young artists up to the age of 32 from Lower Saxony and Bremen.
The exhibition for the Paula Modersohn-Becker Art Prize 2024 will be shown from 17 November 2024 to 9 March 2025 in the Barkenhoff and in the Große Kunstschau Worpswede. The seven works nominated for the main prize will be on display at the Große Kunstschau, while the special and newcomer prizewinners will be presented at the Barkenhoff.
