Monika Drux, singer, voice coach and painter presents “Soundscapes”
Jenny Verplanke, artist from Belgium, shows figurative works in mixed media and partly in bronze
Even as a child, Monika Drux associated tones with colors: f was green, f sharp a little brighter and the leading tone b yellow, the concert pitch a was red. She links various sensory impressions, e.g. tones with colors and shapes. As a former opera and concert singer, she often associates colors with keys, songs, arias or other pieces of music.
The exhibited paintings can be experienced with sound experiments and all the senses.
Jenny Verplanke from Houtave (Belgium) lived and worked with her husband for five years as a volunteer in Togo, West Africa. Much of the inspiration for her sculptures and paintings comes from there.
Her sculptures in bronze and mixed media
complete the presentation. They may be shrouded in silence, but in silence, without words, they have something to tell us.
