BEING HUMAN – Klausen Triennial 2026 – Edition 1
Contemporary art in public spaces /
A cultural event with inclusive elements
The Klausen Triennial 2026 is a five-month, public art and culture event that integrates contemporary artistic works into the public spaces of the municipality of Klausen. The central theme of the first edition is ‘Being Human’.
A total of five locations in public spaces, as well as the Klausen Town Museum, will be incorporated into the exhibition concept.
Public spaces
Five lead artists form the artistic foundation of the Triennial: Lukas Mayr, Patrick Obkircher, Christian Gufler, Florian Tschurtschenthaler and Bernhard Reiterer. Each artist will develop an independent, site-specific work at a designated location within the municipal area.
City Museum
Marlies Baumgartner, Rebekka Frei, Markus Gasser, Sophie Lazari, Paul Moroder dë Doss, Lissy Pernthaler, Albin Portner, Florian Prünster, Evelyn Rier, Matthias Sieff, Ariel Trettel and Vera Überbacher will exhibit their works across various disciplines at the City Museum, including painting, sculpture, performance, poetry and musical formats.
Supporting programme
Five lead artists, five months, five invitations. Each artist designs their own project period – featuring a ritual, concert, workshop, photography project or movement. Everyone is invited to take part, contribute ideas and experience the events. Art comes to life where people truly connect with one another.
