The Schwalenberg Summer Academy

Four weeks are dedicated entirely to art and the painter’s town of Schwalenberg is transformed into a mecca of lecturers and participants from all over Germany. Participants are individually supported and supervised and with 22 courses on offer, our Summer Academy in Schwalenberg has a wide range of options. The programme includes sandstone and soapstone sculpting, nude modelling in clay and subsequent firing as well as firing in the open air using the raku technique, which are just as popular as painting in oil, acrylic and the rarely taught technique of painting with egg tempera. Nude drawing and drawing as well as collage in combination with painting and the printing technique expand our programme. Painting and drawing in the open air, a la plein air, is also a permanent fixture in the course programme.
