Anneliese Schöfbeck is one of the most significant artistic personalities of Mecklenburg. This exhibition presents the work of an artist who has devoted 50 years of her creative life to the landscapes of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, its historic towns, and the surrounding environment. “Her visual language, trained in the classical modern tradition, continually reinterprets her personal experience of the world from the ground up—honest, emotional, and powerful” (K. Arrieta). Born in 1936 in the Vogtland region, Schöfbeck has lived and worked in Hohen Viecheln since 1974.
